I have seen on many of the wedding blogs that I follow, thumbprint tree "guestbooks". I think this is such a clever alternative to having an actual book. It is such a personalized piece of art that the bride and groom can keep and display in their home. Honestly, I think it would be a great guestbook idea for anything or as a present for a teacher, a going-away present or a family tree. Here are some I found in an online image search:
